Been here for lunch with my best friend three times now and no complaints at all. As a pescetarian and her vegan it's nice to have multiple options that are tasty along with amazing warming service, almost feels like I'm in someone's home. 10/10 would recommend one of the few lunch spots in Brighton I repeatedly visit! (oh and also super affordable only 13 for 2 people is crazy good!)

I’ve wanted to try the food her for some time, I’m so glad I finally have. The food here is authentic, nourishing and delicious. Service is fast and friendly and the price is very affordable. Mohammed was also a top guy and clearly does a lot to support the community!

We ahead a lovely late lunch with Jasmine and Mohammed who could not have been kinder. The food is excellent I had Vegan Thalli and my friend had a lovely Lamb Masala .

Last Saturday, I was searching for authentic Bangladeshi iftar items and traditional cuisine. Upon calling Mohammed – Spice of Life, I was warmly greeted by Jasmine, who graciously offered to prepare our preferred dishes. When I casually mentioned during our conversation that I was looking for chola (a traditional chickpea dish), she went out of her way to specially prepare it just for my order. This level of attentiveness and hospitality was truly heartwarming. Both Jasmine and Mohammed were exceptionally warm, welcoming, and kind-hearted, making us feel like honored guests rather than just customers. Their sincerity, generosity, and genuine passion for serving authentic food created an experience that felt like home. Now, let’s talk about the food—every bite was an explosion of flavors! The beef biryani was rich, aromatic, and perfectly spiced. The samosas were crispy and packed with a delicious, well-balanced filling. The beguni (battered fried eggplant) had the perfect crunch while being soft inside, and the cauliflower pakoras were simply addictive. The chola was beautifully seasoned, hearty, and comforting. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, deeply flavorful, and made with love. The portion sizes were generous, offering excellent value for the price. The location is also very convenient, situated right by the main road in Brighton Open Market. Whether you’re craving a taste of home or looking to explore Bangladeshi cuisine, Mohammed – Spice of Life is a must-visit. I cannot recommend it enough!

I’ve just finished a meal at Mohammed - Spice of Life and it was delightful! The owners were lovely and very accommodating, despite it being busy they were able to serve and have food on the table in good timing! I had the Saag Paneer with some extra samosa and it was out of this world - As you can see from the photos I cleared my plate! Thank you to the owners for their wholesome service and deliciously traditional food. Definitely a spot to come to for some lunch/dinner at a good price if you’re by the Open Market or London Road - I’ll be back for sure!

Very tasty yummy biryani Just like home made. Great quantity Very sweet couple. Hospitable and kind. Highly recommended 5/5 Chicken biryani is very yummy And their lentil soup is really the best in the area around Brighton. I eat here everytime I visit Brighton

Every time I visit the open market I make a detour via Mohammed Spice of Life. The lovely lady’s samosas are known all over town for being the very best, flavoursome and very reasonably priced. The masala Chai is some of the best I’ve ever had and I very often wake up craving the Pani Puri they do here, perfectly sweet, spicy and refreshing, exactly what you want in the sunshine and whilst people watching in the market. Service is so friendly and hospitable here, if you haven’t yet visited then you’re seriously missing out.

The best lamb samosas ever! Tried panipuri for the first time, really nice and unique. Lovely and helpful staff who taught us how to eat the panipuri. Amazing prices and delicious food, what more could you want!!
